Gamma UV includes a series of printing machines for graphic applications where the ink used requires a drying system using UV lamps. It is a series of machines that can print from sheet to sheet, from reel to sheet or from reel to reel. The print format is on customer request and can vary from a maximum of 150x360 cm up to smaller sizes. The transport of the substrate to be printed is always carried out by means of an adhesive carpet which allows an excellent positioning capacity and guarantees an excellent register between the printing units. In the detail below we are going to describe the range for advertisment printing applications and pre-cut rigid materials, where it will be possible to make mono or multi-color prints.

LOAD
The loading is done manually, while the positioning of the piece can be carried out in three ways: wooden pre-register table with three reference points; num. 4 laser positioners, recommended when the material is flexible; bar with three reference points with pneumatic actuation, recommended solution for rigid materials.
GLUE APPLICATION
The adhesive, necessary to hold the substrate onto the belt during the printing process, is applied by means of a squeegee placed on the front side of the machine
BELT CLEANING DEVICE
Positioned underneath the outlet section of the machine, it is composed of:
  • Stainless steel tank properly sealed.
  • Three rotary brushes electrically driven.
  • After-cleaning twin squeegee to remove the water from the belt;
  • Pneumatic device of clean lifting;
  • The cleaner slides on guides for an easy access. The water filling and draining can be connected to the plant network.
  • To guarantee the best printing quality, the belt cleaning operation is recommended once every week. The whole process requires about 15 min.
PRE-HEATING HOOD FOR CARPET
Placed in the lower part of the printing belt at the machine entrance it will have the function of heating the thermoplastic adhesives previously spread on the printing belt. This will allow to obtain the desired tack value in relation to the supports to be treated.
PRINTING UNIT
The printing units feature a modular design with a combination of light alloy extrusion profiles and high resistance steel guides. The squeegee/flood bar movements are mechanically driven, while squeegee/scraper inversion and locking/unlocking; screen holding and peeling are pneumatically driven. The screen washing position as well as the screen lifting at each printing cycle are on two posts and also pneumatically driven. Squeegee/flood bar angles independently adjustable Squeegee/flood bar pressure adjustable by four knobs along the holding bar. Their position can also be independently set up. The working parameters on each printing unit are singularly adjustable. Printing/flooding stroke electronically adjustable by a self-learning system. Frame reference on the two axis provided on all printing units.
UV DRYING UNIT
Each unit is equipped with nr. 2 UVM1 groups with a curing width of 1524 mm – 60”. The units are travelling across the belt; both curing stroke and curing speed adjustable by the control panel located in front of the unit.
ELECTROSTATIC INDUCTION SYSTEM
The system provides the adhesion of the support to the printing belt, through electrostatic charges without the aid of glues. The equipment is located at the beginning of the printing machine preceded by a pressure roller which guarantees the initial positioning of the support. When the support passes under the ionizing station it is electrostatically charged so as to be firmly anchored to the carpet of the printing machine and at the same time surface charges are released so as not to interact with the silk of the frames during printing; a pressure roller following the ionizing equipment ensures perfect adhesion of the substrate to the carpet of the printing machine. The ionizing station is equipped with a control panel through which it is possible to adjust the electrostatic charge power to be induced on the substrates to be printed. The substrate to be printed can be constituted for example by sheets or reels of plastic material, PVC, synthetic fabric, natural fiber (for example dry), polyester, etc., or in any case material capable of accumulating electrostatic charges (for example, they are excluded metallic materials, if not combined with plastic materials). The system is composed as follows:
- n ° 1 antistatic bar to facilitate the spreading of the material.
- n ° 1 special static bar for the adhesion of the materials to be treated.
n ° 1 anti-static bar for the elimination of surface electrostatic charges.
